Hohrinji-(1/5)

Hohrinji (pron.:hoh-rinn-jee) temple is a small temple surrounded by hills and rice fields.
It is also called Mi-i temple after the name of location.
As for the foundation of the temple, there are two views among historians.
The one is that Prince Shotoku ordered his sons to build this temple in 622.
The other is that, after the main hall of Horyuji temple was burnt down in 670, it was built by the co-operation of a Korean monk from Paekche and two Japanese monks.
Anyway, the temple has thus long history and it is closely related to Prince Shotoku or Horyuji temple.
