Pagoda (Goju-no-Toh)

Pagoda is the most important structure in Buddhist temple as well as Main Hall. It is said that while Buddha statues are enshrined in Main Hall, the relics of a Buddha are enshrined in Pagoda.
The five-story Pagoda is the oldest surviving Pagoda in Japan. The height of the Pagoda is 31.5 meters from its base.
Even if you have not any interest in Buddhism, you will be interested with architectural beauty of the Pagoda and structural decoration such as sculpture of monkey supporting roof.
